POKOTABI / Tosaka
炭火焼鳥 とさか 川口本店
Kawaguchi izakaya Tosaka pairs charcoal-grilled yakitori and fried wings with budget-friendly drinking snacks, catering to quick counter stops and casual group gatherings alike.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Once you have settled into your seat and ordered a cold beverage, the fun begins with browsing the menu for things to nibble on. Alongside signature fried chicken wings, tsukune meatballs, and chicken skin skewers, Tosaka offers a generous array of wallet-friendly small plates built to accompany a drink. Starters like crisp green bell peppers scooped with house meat miso and light chicken scallion with ponzu make refreshing, hassle-free first picks.
The food reaches well beyond grilled skewers to include potato salad spiced with black pepper and bacon, fluffy bite-sized fried tofu cubes, fresh horsemeat sashimi, and seasoned namerou tartare. Heavier comfort options like fried chicken thigh karaage and chicken nanban are also on hand, making it easy to order freely whether you are after a snack or a full meal.
Drinks cover plenty of ground, from draft beer and giant pickled plum sours to custom-strength Hoppy sets, split bottles, highballs, wine, and cocktails. The floor plan includes counter seating and tables, easily handling a solo drop-in or a lively party among friends. Open from late afternoon until late into the night, the room frequently bustles with groups arriving with advance reservations.
